Footwear brand Converse has launched its collaborative collection with French designer Isabel Marant in the Indian market. The collection brings the country’s shoppers a Parisian take on its signature sneakers, including its Chuck 70 Wedge silhouette and classic Chuck 70.
The collaborative collection launched on Converse’s direct to customer e-commerce store for the Indian market on September 12 and with multi-brand sneaker retailers VegNonVeg and Limited Edt on September 13. Isabel Marant was at the helm of the sneaker wedge trend of the 2010s and, with the decade coming back into fashion, has reimagined the silhouette for today’s shoppers with texture and pops of colour.
“Isabel Marant has a distinct point of view, famously living at the juxtaposition between high and low,” announced Converse in a press release. “Defined by principles like spontaneity, independence, and natural elegance, Isabel Marant finds freedom in being unpredictable and breaking the mould. She’s not afraid to choose her own path and finds allure in the journey more than the destination– values that are undoubtedly shared by Converse.”
Based in Boston, US, Converse is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nike Inc and was originally established in 1908 as a rubber company. Today, the brand is known for its Chuck Taylor All Star, One Star, and Weapon sneaker designs and has close ties to the global creative, basketball, and skateboarding communities.
