E-commerce giant Amazon has launched a ‘Creator University’ in India to upskill social media influencers and encourage them to create content directly on Amazon’s platform. The initiative is designed to boost customer engagement and educate shoppers on product features in a way they find enjoyable
“We are creating more avenues for these creators to syndicate or create new content directly on Amazon,” said Amazon’s director of shopping initiatives in India and emerging markets Zahid Khan, ET Retail reported. “Amazon Live is a great example of this. Through live streaming, creators can talk directly to customers, who can chat back in real-time. In face, in India, we have some of the highest chat rates, and these streams are phenomenal.”
Amazon’s Creator University will include workshops, video tutorials, case studies, and articles all designed to give influencers the tools to build their profile on the Amazon platform and beyond. The business aims to leverage external social media platforms to reach the maximum number of viewers while also creating content on the Amazon platform itself.
The Amazon Creator University will share tips on the kind of content that performs the best in a shopping context, according to Khan. It will also give influencers tips on how to cultivate their own audience and how to create content that is both exciting and informative. By tapping into the significant demand for interactive shopping in India, Amazon aims to further grow its customer base in the country.
