Designer and entrepreneur Anamika Khanna’s ready-to-wear brand AK | OK held an immersive storytelling experience by putting on a play, styled by the brand, at The White Crow in Jio World Drive, Mumbai.
With the aim of giving the audience a memorable, unique storytelling experience, Anamika Khanna’s AK | OK put on a 30-minute play with eight performers on October 3, the brand announced in a press release. The event showcased the label’s latest floaty, fusion style designs and aimed to help the audience connect to the brand’s ethos.
“The idea of this event was to offer an experience that goes beyond fashion- something that speaks to the soul of the AK | OK woman,” said brand founder Anamika Khanna in a press release. “It was about expressing her journey, her strength, and her individuality. Clothes are not just garments anymore, it’s an emotion you carry and speak about. Through the play, we hoped to create a memorable, emotional connection that resonates with every woman who sees herself in AK | OK.”
The play follows the eight characters sitting around the dining table and exploring their friendship. As one friend plans to move, the group shares a decade of memories of their time together.
The play’s cast were Nakul Sahdev, Zayn Marie, Aditi Mittal, Muskaan Bisaria, Himika Bose, Kamakshi Bhat, Rytasha Rathore, and Sehban Azim and Anamika Khanna herself also graced the event. By showcasing its garments in a new light, the brand aimed to strengthen its connections to the art world in a playful way.
