France’s Royer Group has entered into an agreement with Chennai-based Kothari Industrial Corporation Ltd (KICL) to launch its brand Kickers in the Indian market.
With this partnership, Kickers will open its first store in India at Chennai offerings its products including footwear, apparel and accessories.
In addition to India, the licensing agreement grants KICL marketing rights for Kickers in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on the partnership, J Rafiq Ahmed, managing director of KICL in a statement said, “The entry of Kickers into India could prove a game-changer not only for KICL, but also for retail fashion products. Though it is of French origin, the brand bears an international dimension. The details of Kickers entry into India are still being worked out.”
Kickers, a heritage shoe brand founded in 1970 caters to families worldwide while KICL is one of the oldest industrial houses in Tamil Nadu.
