Accessories brand Lavie plans to open 50 exclusive brand outlets in India each year in addition to its current total of over 120 stores and kiosks. The brand also aims to bring its multi-brand outlet store presence to 1,000 stores in the coming few years, up from its current total of 200.
“Currently, our multi-brand store count is quite small,” Lavie’s CEO Ayush Tainwala told India Retailing. By partnering with pan-India multi-brand retailers, Lavie aims to tap into new customer bases and increase brand visibility.
For its upcoming exclusive brand outlets, Lavie plans to focus on shopping malls as opposed to high street locations. Following a slowdown during the pandemic, Indian malls are once again expanding with numerous large scale construction projects underway across the country.
During the 2025 financial year, Lavie aims to expand into international markets. “We are currently experimenting with exports to the UK and the Middle Eastern markets,” said Tainwala. “We are approaching this opportunity methodically, step by step.”
Lavie takes its name from the French expression ‘la vie en rose’ and the previously offline first brand went online in 2014. Lavie has also expanded into premium retail with the launch of its ‘Lavie Luxe’ handbag range, designed to cater to shoppers looking for aspirational goods. Parented by Bagzone Lifestyles, Lavie also runs the subsidiary Lavie Sport.
