Womenswear brand Deme by Gabriella held its first runway show in Dubai as part of Dubai Fashion Week. Designer Gabriella Demetriades sent cosy yet daring drapes down the ramp and took inspiration from fearless women and the idea of a modern warrior.
“Showcasing at Dubai Fashion Week is a dream come true,” said designer and brand founder Gabriella Demetriades in a press release. “We have an immensely growing client base in the UAE and were keen to show them our new collection. It was a chance to connect with a diverse audience and showcase the brand we have created to a global audience.”
Deme by Gabriella’s collection had a soft, neutral colour palette and used fluid textiles to render toga like drapes. Golden suns caught the light on the runway as they sat at the waist of slinky maxi dresses and tailored suits added poise to the collection, which launched online for purchase just after the show on September 5.
“The inspiration for this collection comes from the women who have influenced my life- those who are unafraid to embrace their strength and sensuality while maintaining an air of grace,” said Demetriades. “I wanted to create pieces that are not just garments, but experiences that resonate deeply with the wearer.”
Deme by Gabriella was founded by Gabriella Demetriades over 10 years ago. The brand has held runway shows as part of Indian fashion weeks including Lakmé Fashion Week x Fashion Design Council of India and retails across India through a mix of online and offline multi-brand fashion retailers.
