A posse of top fashion and luxury labels have picked new brand ambassadors to front their latest communication campaigns, including actor Jacob Elordi, signed up by Bottega Veneta, and top model Iris Law, starring in the first Guess Jeans collection.
Jacob Elordi for Bottega Veneta
Bottega Veneta has officially unveiled its new brand ambassador Jacob Elordi with a rather amusing pic. The Australian actor, a rising star of both TV and film who first caught the eye in HBO’s Euphoria series, was selected as the Italian luxury label’s new face this spring.
His hair ruffled, and clad in a thick salmon-pink sweater, Elordi, 26, is pictured with his hands on top of his head like a pair of rabbit’s ears, cheekily contrasting with his wise kid expression. Elordi, a former ambassador for Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss, was lensed for Bottega Veneta by US photographer Alec Soth of the Magnum agency, which produced the label’s Spring/Summer 2024 campaign. The communication coup was announced on Instagram on May 23, with the Cannes Film Festival in full swing, by Matthieu Blazy, Bottega Veneta’s creative director. A big draw for Gen Z consumers who love Elordi’s bold looks and his vast collection of Bottega Veneta leather goods, notably the ‘Andiamo’ and ‘Cassette’ bags.
Nicole Kidman for Balenciaga
Australian-American actor Nicole Kidman features in the campaign for Balenciaga’s new ‘Rodeo’ handbag, launched in February.
The Parisian label has named its latest handbag after the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and launched it with a campaign starring Kidman, dressed in an all-white tweed suit, alongside Chinese actor and singer Yang Chaoyue and US model Amelia Gray. Each of the three ambassadors is portrayed sitting down in front of a dark background, showcasing the Italy-made handbag in jet black calfskin, which can be customised with assorted key-holders and colourful charms. The campaign was released on May 10 and was shot by Italian fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti.
Kit Connor for Loewe
Spanish label Loewe has travelled to the model village in Bekonscot, UK, built in 1929 and the oldest in the world, to present its Fall/Winter 2024 pre-collection.
Once again, Loewe has called on German fashion photographer Juergen Teller to shoot its new campaign, boldly showcasing its range of geometric-shaped handbags in a tongue-in-cheek, slightly retro setting. Immersed in a miniature world, young British actor Kit Connor (who first made a name for himself with the Elton John musical biopic Rocketman) picks up his bag in the maze of micro alleys, while other leather handbags by the Spanish label, like the colourful ‘Puzzle’ and the ‘Hammock’, are lensed with Irish actor Alison Oliver, her feet in a mini pond’s water, Canadian actor Dan Levy, standing in the midst of a fighter squadron, and a pouting Alfie Anderson, nephew of Loewe Creative Director Jonathan Anderson.
John Leguizamo for Kith
American-Colombian actor John Leguizamo has posed for New York label Kith wearing a white polo under an open-work overshirt, thick gold rings on his fingers and smoking a fat cigar to complete the bad-boy look.
For its Summer 2024 campaign, Kith has picked a line-up that also includes US stand-up comedian Andrew Schulz, basketball player Jimmy Butler, American football player Victor Cruz, and the label’s founder Ronnie Fieg, all pictured in loosely tailored, pastel-coloured looks. The collection includes white kimono-style shirts, striped linen shirts with embroidered shoulder appliqué, bomber jackets and shorts in sky blue satin, and hand-stitched suede sandals co-designed by 8th St. by Ronnie Fieg and Clarks Originals.
Iris Law for Guess Jeans
The new Guess Jeans label has chosen for its first ad campaign British top model and actor Iris Law, 23, a strategic pick to appeal to Gen Z and Millennial consumers.
Law, who has featured in campaigns for labels like Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs and Dior Beauty, is shown wearing a Guess Jeans denim ensemble in a photoshoot by Brazilian fashion photographer Rafael Pavarotti. Guess Jeans, led by Nicolai Marciano, debuted earlier this year at Pitti Uomo in Florence, and is the younger sibling of Guess. Nicolai, 29, son of the eponymous founder of the Californianlaunched in 1981, intends to revolutionise the denim sector with the Guess Airwash technology, an air-based technique for washing denim fabric that reduces water consumption.
