Home textiles and interiors business Bonito has launched its first ever experience centre store in Mumbai to connect with shoppers in the metro. The 12,000 square foot store also houses over 12,000 products including the brand’s collaboration with fashion designer Manish Malhotra.
“Transforming houses into branded homes with unparalleled design finesse,” announced Bonito Designs on Facebook. “Say hello to Bonito Designs- India’s exclusive destination for branded interiors, redefining luxury living one space at a time.”
The store is located in Mumbai’s Andheri neighbourhood and is designed to offer a technology driven, immersive shopping experience. For its first weekend open, the store saw more than 200 bookings, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. Celebrity interior designer Gauri Khan and couturier Manish Malhotra inaugurated the new store and showcased their collaborative line for Bonito in the expansive space.
The store is designed to mainly appeal to first time, urban home buyers, where interior design decisions are usually made by both partners. Thus, the experience centre has features designed to appeal to both men and women as well as children, according to Bonito.
“The interior design industry in India is experiencing a remarkable growth trajectory with a CAGR [compound annual growth rate] of approximately 18%,” said Bonito Designs’ CEO Amit Parsuramka, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. “Recognising this trend, we believe that now is the perfect opportunity to expand our offerings and introduce new products, as well as extend our presence to additional cities across India. The increasing number of branded housing projects is significantly boosting the growth of the interior design sector.”
