Pietro Beccari to be awarded Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of Italy

Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, is to be awarded the Cavaliere del Lavoro – one of Italy’s most important honors – by Italian President Sergio Mattarella.

A legendarily hard-working executive, Beccari has also been CEO of Fendi and Dior, two other stellar brands within the LVMH group. He will receive the award in Rome this fall in the Quirinale presidential palace.

“I am incredibly honored and proud of this prestigious recognition. I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella; to the Federazione Nazionale dei Cavalieri del Lavoro; to Bernard Arnault and the LVMH Group for their constant support, and last but not least, to my family, always by my side in my every professional and personal achievement,” enthused Beccari, referring to LVMH CEO and controlling holder Arnault.

Pietro Beccari has been Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton since February 2023 – returning to Vuitton after a decade away. Previously, during six years, he was Director of Marketing and Communications at the brand from 2006 to 2012. During this first period, Beccari was the guiding force behind Vuitton’s disruptive Core Values campaign, and “the enhancement of the Italian territory and its artistic and cultural heritage,” the Paris-based luxury brand said in a release.

In 2010, Beccari was the proponent of the historic expansion of the Louis Vuitton atelier in Fiesso d’Artico, in the Veneto region, where footwear for all the maison’s markets is made. Born in Parma, Beccari like a good Italian is a huge football fan, so much so he played professionally in his youth.

Joining LV more than a year and a half at the helm of Louis Vuitton, Beccari became the decision maker of the world’s largest luxury fashion house employing more than 38,000 people – 1,800 in Italy.

“His managerial career has always been marked by respect for the founding values of the brands he has led, the protection of cultural heritage, and the creation of communities of people as a fundamental tool for creating value through teamwork,” Louis Vuitton underlined.

Among his key decisions at LV: the appointment of Pharrell Williams as Men’s Creative Director; the renewal of Nicolas Ghesquière’s contract as Artistic Director of the Women’s Collections; the first fashion show in Italy, at Isola Bella; the revival of the legendary Core Values campaigns, and the return of the Louis Vuitton Cup, the qualifying stages of the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona of which the Maison is also the title sponsor.
