Sonakshi Sinha recently opened up about her childhood as the daughter of Bollywood icon Shatrughan Sinha, offering a candid look into her early years and the influence of her famous father on her life.
When asked about her experience growing up in a Bollywood family, Sonakshi shared a refreshingly grounded perspective with News 18. “Honestly, when people ask me this, I don’t know what to say because I believe it was as normal as anyone else’s childhood.My upbringing was very much like my friends’ in Bombay. It wasn’t until I was seven or eight years old that I realized what my dad did,” Sonakshi recalled.
“I would see people asking for autographs and large crowds around him, and that’s when it clicked. But I think the credit goes to my parents, especially my mom, for giving all three of us the most normal childhood despite dad’s hectic schedule with films and politics,” she added.

Sonakshi also mentioned that growing up without social media made her childhood more private. “There were no paparazzi constantly following me or my family, which allowed us to grow up away from the public eye,” she explained, reflecting on how the lack of social media during her childhood gave her a more sheltered upbringing compared to the children of modern-day celebrities.

Sonakshi and Zaheer also opened up about why they kept their relationship private for over 7 years. Sonakshi explained they wanted to avoid unnecessary attention. She hinted at the concept of “nazar” (the evil eye). The couple registered their marriage on June 23 this year in the presence of their close friends and respective family members including Sonakshi’s parents Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha.
