But the “Late Show” host did have one fact-check for the president.
“Donald Trump promised infrastructure week, every week, for four years,” Biden said. “And he never built a damn thing.”
“That’s not entirely fair, sir,” Colbert said. “He did build all those little burger towers.”
Trump, in 2019, treated Clemson University’s national championship-winning football team to a spread of fast food, including hamburgers, when they visited the White House.
Or, as Trump called it in a memorable typo, “hamberders.”
Trump at the time also shared an image of himself showing off the feast ― including those burger towers Colbert mentioned:
“I’m sure he designed them,” Colbert said.
