He rolled a clip of Trump giving a wild introduction to Paraguay President Santiago Peña.
“President Pena of Paraguay is here,” Trump said, mispronouncing the name. “President? President, thank you very much.”
Then it got even weirder.
“Young, handsome guy. It’s always nice to be young and handsome. Doesn’t mean we have to like you. I don’t like young, handsome men. Women, I like.”
Colbert’s audience jeered.
“Does he know we can hear him?” Colbert asked, then offered Trump some advice: “Sir, especially right now, ix-nay on the oung-yay omen-way. If he doesn’t stop yapping, Pam Bondi is gonna have to start live-redacting.”
That was a reference to Trump’s ties to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was once a close friend. Trump is mentioned prominently in files recently released by Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Justice Department. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) last week said he searched the unredacted files available to lawmakers for “Don,” “Donald,” and “Trump” and received more than 1 million results.
There is no evidence of wrongdoing, and Trump insists he distanced himself from Epstein before the allegations surfaced.
