Every Movie Leaving Netflix in July 2024

A veteran in the world of streaming, Netflix’s catalog of films runs deep. Time and again, the platform has provided its subscribers with an array of content worthy of anyone’s movie night. However, as new films make their way to the streaming service, dozens of films are forced to leave. Unfortunately, numerous films are slated to vacate the platform in the coming weeks that viewers should check out before it’s too late.

With nearly every genre of film on the chopping block, subscribers have a long list of movies to choose from before they’re no longer available. While not every viewer will find the soon-to-be departing films appealing, there’s certainly at least one worth watching before they vacate the platform next month.

A Nightmare on Elm Street Franchise

Directed by Wes Craven, A Nightmare on Elm Street is a classic slasher film with a supernatural twist featuring the infamous villain Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) at its center. Burned to death by the parents of the children he murdered, Krueger now haunts the dreams of local teenagers and kills them in their sleep with the metal claw he wears on his right hand.

The film spawned a slew of sequels and spinoffs and has cemented itself as one of the most iconic horror franchises in American pop culture. The first five films in the franchise, along with the 2010 remake of the original, are slated to vacate Netflix soon, which means fans and prospective viewers don’t have long before the movies are gone. The A Nightmare on Elm Street Franchise is leaving Netflix on July 1.

Inside Man

Directed by Spike Lee, Inside Man is a crime thriller about a police detective, a bank robber, and a high-power broker whose interests converge after the bank robber, Dalton Russell (Clive Owen), takes over a Manhattan bank. With dozens of hostages under Dalton’s thumb inside the bank, Detective Keith Frazier (Denzel Washington) is called in to negotiate their safe release.

However, when broker Madeleine White (Jodie Foster) enters the fray to secure something of great importance inside the bank for the institution’s founder, the situation grows more contentious. With the thieves seemingly stalling the entire heist on purpose, Detective Frazier begins to suspect that something bigger than a simple bank robbery might be unfolding right under their noses. Inside Man is leaving Netflix on July 1.

Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & 2

Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & 2 follows a former assassin, known as The Bride (Uma Thurman), on her quest to seek revenge on her former lover and leader of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, Bill (David Carradine). When she discovers she’s pregnant with Bill’s child, she escapes her life as a killer.

With sights on something new for herself, she meets a man in Texas who is subsequently gunned down on the day of their wedding rehearsal at the hands of a jealous Bill and other members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. After waking up from a coma four years later, The Bride decides to seek revenge on those who wronged her and killed her baby. With nothing left to lose, she vows to do everything she can to “kill Bill.” Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 are leaving Netflix on July 1.

X

Leaving July 1

X is the first film in the Ti West horror trilogy that follows Maxine Minx (Mia Goth) on her quest to be a famous movie star via adult films. Set in 1979, Maxine and a small film crew arrive at a desolate farmhouse they’ve rented for a few days in rural Texas to make an adult film. Given the nature of their visit, they keep their true intentions a secret from the elderly couple who live on the property.

As nightfall descends, Maxine and the others realize they may not be as safe as they initially thought, nor is the elderly couple as harmless as they first believed. With the final film in the horror trilogy, MaXXXine, set to hit theaters on July 3, audiences will certainly want to check how it all began with the X saga’s central heroine before the film leaves the platform. X is leaving Netflix on July 1.

Yesterday

Directed by Danny Boyle, Yesterday follows a struggling musician named Jack Malik (Himesh Patel) who is on the cusp of abandoning his passion. On the night he decides to leave it all behind him, the world experiences an unexplained blackout just as he is hit by a bus. When he regains consciousness in the hospital, he awakes to find out that no one has any knowledge about The Beatles or their groundbreaking music.

Now faced with such an improbable opportunity, Jack uses his unique situation to present the band’s music as his own. He subsequently gains international notoriety as a result of his plagiarism but soon finds himself drifting away from the one friend who has always believed in him, Ellie Appleton (Lily James). When he finally realizes his feelings for Ellie run deeper than friendship, he must decide what to do regarding the music he’s stolen and figure out what it is he truly wants and needs in life. Yesterday is leaving Netflix on July 1.
