In 2004, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta revealed on the first season of Koffee With Karan how they became close after the film Kya Kehna. Saif recounted his horrific accident on set, where he had been rehearsing a motorcycle jump on Juhu beach. While attempting the stunt in muddy, rainy conditions in Khandala, his bike skidded, sending him crashing into a rock. He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where the stitches left him looking quite battered. Preity, concerned for his appearance, even arranged for a plastic surgeon to assist.
