Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday gave Donald Trump a Christmas-themed nickname as he mocked the president’s yearslong obsession with winning the “war on Christmas.”
“Nobody loves taking credit for the words ‘merry’ and ‘Christmas’ more than our own Rant-a-Claus,” Kimmel joked.
The late night host then aired a supercut of Trump repeatedly (falsely) claiming, from 2015 to now, that he himself was personally responsible for reviving the phrase “Merry Christmas.”:
“They weren’t saying ‘Merry Christmas.’ Now they’re saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again,” Trump claimed in one clip. “And now they’re all saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again, right?” he asked in another.
Kimmel wasn’t buying it, though.
“It’s almost like we never stopped saying ‘Merry Christmas’ in the first place,” he snarked.
