Overall, I feel like “Emily in Paris” is one of the few shows that is consistently on brand — both for its light tone and as a part of Darren Star’s canon. (“Emily in Paris” especially reminds me of “Younger,” which I LOVED.) For its ability to maintain this consistency, I think the first five episodes of this new season will be exactly what fans are expecting, so they will enjoy it (even with some of the heavier topics that are woven in). I anticipate the biggest problems that fans will have is with Netflix. Once again, the streamer divided a new release into two parts, and I am personally really frustrated with Netflix shows broken up into parts. It also doesn’t make much sense for a show like “Emily in Paris,” which is a perfect binge-watch. And the fifth episode doesn’t end with that big of a cliff-hanger, so it’s not like I’m anxiously waiting for the next episode (like I was with “Bridgerton” this season). I mean, given Camille’s poor decision making in the past, it was obvious to me that the show was going to take her character in this direction, and I’m honestly over her drama with Gabriel and Emily. What I’m most hoping to see in the last five episodes is less Camille and more Mindy. I’m also crossing my fingers for the return of Alfie. — Sarah Hunter
Yes, I’m so over these two-part seasons on Netflix! Especially for shows like this. There was a lot jam-packed into these episodes. We didn’t talk much about Camille’s pregnancy, because the show made it seem like such a non-factor (aside from the tension it caused with Sofia, who wanted their extra bedroom to be an art studio — which I could not even bear to care about). When Camille finds out that she was never actually pregnant, it was so anticlimactic. In the final scenes, we start to see Camille seemingly starting to regret breaking it off with Gabriel. And if we have to endure another love triangle with her, Emily and Gabriel, I might have to give up the show. I’m so over it. I would love for Camille to just move to Greece and be with Sofia instead. But yes, more Alfie all the time! I have no sense of what will happen in Part 2 of Season 4, but I’m ready. — Erin
