According to Sacnilk.com, ‘Stree 2’ has accumulated a substantial ₹131.13 crore net in India within just three days of its release. The film began its run with a strong start, earning ₹8.5 crore from its premiere shows held a day prior to its official release. The opening day saw a significant box office haul of ₹51.8 crore, followed by ₹31.4 crore on its first Friday. Although the Friday figures showed a slight dip of 39.38% from the opening day, the weekend saw a resurgence in earnings. On Saturday, the film garnered an estimated ₹39.43 crore, reflecting a robust 55.72% occupancy rate. The highest attendance was recorded during the evening shows, further contributing to the film’s growing total.
The positive reception and good reviews have set the stage for ‘Stree 2’ to continue its successful run, with expectations for a strong performance on Sunday as well. The sequel builds on the success of its 2018 predecessor, ‘Stree,’ and continues the story of Chanderi, a town plagued by the terror of a beheaded entity named Sarkata who is abducting women. With the townsfolk in desperate need of help, the character of Stree is called upon to save them from this supernatural menace.
‘Stree 2’ not only reunites Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor but also features a series of well-kept cameos by other stars. Notably, Varun Dhawan makes a special appearance as Bhediya in a song alongside Shraddha Kapoor. The film’s soundtrack, composed by Sachin–Jigar, and its score, by Justin Varghese, adds to the film’s overall appeal.
It faced off against John Abraham and Sharvari’s ‘Vedaa’ and the star-studded ensemble film ‘Khel Khel Mein’, featuring Akshay Kumar, Ammy Virk, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. Despite this competitive landscape, ‘Stree 2’ has managed to carve out a significant presence at the box office, reflecting its strong fan base and audience interest.
