As bad as it is to see The Boys go after season 5, the superhero series will avoid a hugely divisive decision that Supernatural famously made.
Though it was obvious that the show couldn’t go on forever, it was revealed just days before season 4’s premiere that The Boys would be ending with season 5. Since the decision seems to be a mutual one between creator Eric Kripke and Prime Video, it’s assured that the series will get an ending of some sort instead of being left hanging like so many other great shows of the past. Fortunately, with the spinoff Gen V returning for its second season soon, the franchise could continue in various other off-shoots.
At this juncture, it’s impossible to guess what might happen in The Boys season 5 because season 4 is far from over yet. With so many shocking twists and turns in the series thus far, there will surely be more than a few mind-blowing moments in season 4 that will drastically impact season 5’s plot.
