Aditya Dhar’s directorial ‘Dhurandhar’ which released in theatres on December 5, is now on its way to complete one week at the box office and the film has surpassed expectations. The Ranveer Singh starrer which also features an impressive ensemble comprising of Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and introduces Sara Arjun, has gotten a great response, not just from the internet but also at the box office. Dhurandhar Movie Review‘Dhurandhar’ opened at Rs 28 crore on day 1. On Saturday, it saw a growth of around 14 per cent and made Rs 32 crore. Meanwhile on Sunday, the jump was phenomenal as the film made around Rs 43 crore which was 34 percent more than the Saturday numbers. On Monday, the collection was Rs 23.25 crore . This was a drop of more than 50 percent when compared to the Sunday numbers but if the film manages to stay in the same range all through the week, it would be great. On Tuesday, it has started off on a decent note and has minted about Rs 27 crore. This is massive. The Wednesday collection is Rs 27 crore which is at par as the Tuesday numbers which is great. Now, the film is expected to hold stable even on Thursday. While morning shows began with an estimated 18% footfalls, the occupancy doubled by afternoon, with the film recording an estimated 36% occupancy rate. By early evening, the film recorded good growth, taking its total collections to an estimated Rs 13.77 crore. By late evening, reports stated that th film had a 44% occupancy, thus pushing its collections past the Rs 22 crore mark.The total collection of ‘Dhurandhar’ has now hit the Rs 200 crore milestone. The movie is living up to expectations, if not exceeding it, and collected a net total of Rs 202 crore by 11 pm. With the film breaking past the Rs 20 crore mark, it has managed to maintain its hold over the box office all through the working week.
On December 12, there’s no major Hindi release, but ‘Akhanda 2’ is releasing which may give competition to ‘Dhurandhar’ in the south regions.
