Newsom’s measure is a response to Texas Republicans, who redrew their state’s maps to give the GOP more seats in next year’s midterm elections. Prop 50 does the same in California, except to the advantage of Democrats.
And that’s not all Newsom’s been up to.
“Gavin Newsom has been working hard to beat Trump at his own game,” Kimmel said. “He’s been posting these funny things like this, showing Trump as a baby.”
“It does seem to be getting under the president’s skin,” Kimmel said, then rolled a clip of Trump attacking Newsom, but not doing a very good job of it.
“He doesn’t have what it takes. Tell you that,” Trump said. “Slimy guy. He’s a slimy one. Maybe that should be his nickname: Slimy, slimy, Newscum, right?”
Kimmel wasn’t impressed.
“Oh man,” he said. “He can’t even come up with a decent nickname anymore. It’s so sad.”
