
Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 is setting new records with each passing day at the box office. The sequel to 2022’s blockbuster hit Kantara released on 2nd October and completely dominated films released with it and before it. The film opened to mammoth Rs 61.85 crore on day 1 becoming the third biggest day 1 collector of the year. On the second day the film witnessed a small dip but still collected Rs 45.4 crore. On Saturday -it’s this day the film went on to mint Rs 55 crore the biggest Saturday collection of 2025, with Sunday collection hitting Rs 63 crore. On Monday, the film witnessed a 50 % drop in its collection minting Rs 31.25 crore as per Sacnilk. But with that the film set another benchmark of collecting highest collection on Monday for 2025 going past big blockbusters like Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava ( Rs 24 crore) , Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda and Mohit Suri ‘s Saiyaara ( Rs 24 crore ) Rajinikanth’s Coolie ( Rs 12 crore), Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 ( Rs 8.75 crore), Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly ( Rs 15 crore), Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG ( Rs 7.4 crore ) and Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 ( Rs 13 crore). With a Rs 31.25 crore haul on Monday, the total collection of the film stands at Rs 256.50 crore over just 5 days. The Monday collection is a glimpse of how strong the film has connected with the masses and it all set to touch Rs 300 crore mark within the first week itself. The total collection of 2022 Kanatar was Rs 310 crore and it seems the sequel will cross that mark on the 2nd Friday itself. Kantara 2 features Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram and Rakimini Vasanth in pivotal roles, the makers have also announced the third part with the climax of the second part.
