Renowned Bihari singer Sharda Sinha, affectionately known as the ‘Bihar Kokila,’ has sadly passed away at the age of 72.
She had been in critical condition and on ventilator support for several days following her hospitalization shortly after the death of her husband, Brajkishore Sinha, in September. Sharda, celebrated for her significant contributions to folk music and culture in Bihar, leaves behind a rich legacy that touched the hearts of many. Her son Anshuman confirmed the news of her passing, mourning the loss of a beloved mother and an iconic artist.
Earlier reports indicated that Sharda Sinha was deeply affected by the death of her husband, Brij Kishore Sinha. The esteemed ‘Padma Bhushan’ recipient had been receiving treatment at AIIMS hospital in Delhi for several days. Her son Anshuman recently went live on his official YouTube channel, providing an update on her condition. He revealed that she is currently on ventilator support and urged fans to pray for her recovery.
