LEGO has announced new sets that will expand its lineup of Star Wars collectibles as it continues to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its partnership with Lucasfilm. The sets include a Creative Play Droid Builder set, a Return of the Jedi Desert Skiff set, and a C-3PO set. They will officially launch on July 31, but pre-orders for the Return of the Jedi set and the C-3PO set are available now.
The Desert Skiff set comes with Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and Boba Fett mini-figures with accessories, plus a LEGO Star Wars 25th-anniversary mini-figure of Nien Nunb. The main model is a 558-piece set with a toy vehicle and Sarlacc pit. Meanwhile, the Droid Builder set is a 1,186-piece set complete with a buildable R2-D2 and three other customizable droids, Chopper (C1-10P), QT-KT, and R5-J2. As part of the set, it is touted that the accessories fit on all the droids, and the rotating heads and legs of each Droid can be reattached to any other body. This set is available to pre-order now for $99.99.
The C-3PO set includes a posable head and arms for the iconic Droid and is a 1,138-piece set that comes with a mini-figure of C-3PO. The set also comes with an information plaque and a 25th-anniversary LEGO Star Wars brick. The set can be pre-ordered currently for $139.99. The LEGO fireworks celebrations will come free with the order until July 7. Additional buildable sets include a dark Falcon set, an Imperial Star Destroyer set, and a Luke Skywalker X-Wing Mech Set. As LEGO Star Wars continues to celebrate 25 years, they are not just focused on these fun new playsets. There’s also the forthcoming LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy Disney+ series, slated to feature Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker once again and Ahmed Best voicing Jar Jar Binks. LEGO Star Wars also has several video games. The most recent video game release was LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga in April 2022.
