
Rani Mukerji recently opened up about the importance of cybersecurity, especially in the times of artificial intelligence, massive use of social media platforms, and more. On the occasion of Cyber Awareness Month 2025 at Maharashtra Police Headquarters in Mumbai.

According to an ANI report, Rani shared that she is “humbled and honored” to be part of the inauguration ceremony of Cyber Awareness Month. She stated that, over the years, she had the privilege to play characters of strong women who fight against injustice and protect the weak.
Mukerji added, “In fact, today, I have rushed here from the shooting of ‘Mardaani 3’, so it all feels very surreal right now. This initiative taken by the Maharashtra Police is applaudable.”

During the event, the ‘Mardaani’ actress also delved into the rise of cyber crimes. She said, “Cybercrimes—especially those against women and children—are silently rising within our homes. As a woman, and as a mother, I understand how crucial awareness is.”Mukerji expressed that real protection starts when the families know how to stay safe and where to approach for help. She thanked Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, ACS Iqbal Singh Chahal, and DGP Rashmi Shukla for prioritizing and taking up the issue of cyber security.

Rani Mukerji stated that the 1930 and 1945 helpline numbers are a blessing for people. She stated that though she brings stories to life on the big screen, as a woman, mother, and citizen, she feels it “is our collective responsibility to ensure that no child cries in silence, no woman feels unsafe, and no family loses peace of mind because of cybercrime.”Mukerji went on to urge, “Let us pledge today to stay alert, speak up, and stand together for a safer digital world.”

The actress will be next seen in the third part of the ‘Mardaani’ film franchise. In the movie, she will be reprising her role of Senior Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy. Meanwhile, the actress was recently honored with the National Film Award for her performance in ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’.
