Mrunal Thakur was supposed to star in Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’, but was later replaced by Anushka Sharma. Salman Khan had once revealed that on ‘Bigg Boss’ when Mrunal appeared on the show to promote her film ‘Jersey’ with Shahid Kapoor. Salman had said, “The original star of Sultan was her. Ali (Director Ali Abbas Zafar) had got her but she was not looking like a pahalwan. Anushka bhi nahi lagti thi pahalwan type but mujhe pataa tha inka bohot accha hoga career.” Mrunal reacted to it and had said, “Tab mera wazan bohot zyada tha.” Meanwhile, Mrunal has been in the news lately as her old comment on Bipasha Basu’s body went viral. The actress apologised for calling Bipasha ‘manly’ stating that she was just 19 years old that time and she didn’t know any better. But now, she has faced backlash again for allegedly targeting Anushka Sharma. In a recent interview with Miss Malini, Mrunal was asked about a film that she rejected which went on to be a hit. She responds, “So many. I said no, honestly, because I was not ready. Controversies hojayegi. It became a super hit and did help the female actress to reach there. But, then I realised if I would have done that film at that point of time I would have lost myself.”
She added further, “She is not working at the moment, but I am, is itself a victory because I don’t want instant gratification, instant recognition, instant fame because anything that comes instantly goes away instantly.”This video went viral on Reddit and netizens did not like Mrunal for saying that she’s working at the moment but that actress is not. People were quick to guess that she’s talking about Anushka and the film in question is ‘Sultan’. A user commented, “Peak mean girl energy ‘she’s not working today but i am’ I really cannot respect women who put others down to feel better about themselves.”Another Reddit user commented, “If it’s Anushka..Then Mrunal is actually stupid.” One more user wrote, “Mrunal would have looked like a wrestler and she might have benefitted from the film a lot.
