Where To Watch MaXXXine: Showtimes & Streaming Status

Summary

  • Ti West’s horror trilogy concludes with MaXXXine, focusing on Maxine Minx’s journey after surviving X’s ending.
  • MaXXXine releases exclusively in theaters on July 5, 2024, with streaming on Max expected in November 2024.
  • A24’s average gap between theatrical and digital releases is around 50 days, suggesting a potential August 2024 digital release for MaXXXine.

The end of Ti West’s X trilogy is here, and there are different ways for where to watch MaXXXine. The horror franchise began in 2022 with the release of the first two installments, X and Pearl. The first movie centered around Mia Goth’s Maxine Minx and surviving her encounter with Pearl (also played by Goth), while the second was a prequel about the elderly woman in her youth. MaXXXine brings the focus back to Maxine as she continues pursuing her dreams of becoming a star after surviving X‘s ending and becomes entangled in another murder investigation.

Thanks to the strong reception to the first two installments, there was every expectation that Ti West would deliver another memorable horror movie with MaXXXine. The first two movies were solid box office hits thanks to their low costs, as X and Pearl combined to make $25 million after each scoring above 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. With MaXXXine‘s cast becoming much bigger and the larger Los Angeles setting, anticipation for the final entry in the trilogy is even greater. Audiences have a decision to make when it comes to where to watch the movie.

When Will MaXXXine Release On Streaming?

MaXXXine Will Stream On Max

There is no confirmation on when MaXXXine will be released on streaming. As an A24 movie, it will stream on Max at a later date as part of a deal between A24 and Warner Bros. The deal has been in place since late 2023, which creates some data to predict what will happen with Ti West’s film. On average, A24’s movies release on Max around 120 days after debuting in theaters. This creates a projection that MaXXXine could be released on streaming in November 2024 if a similar schedule is used.

The option to watch MaXXXine at home on digital will come before it is streaming. A24 has not announced when the film will be available on most major PVOD services to buy or rent. The studio’s average gap between theatrical and digital releases is around 50 days. This could mean that MaXXXine might release on digital in August 2024 if a similar timeline is followed. The nearly two-month gap would be similar to what happened for X and Pearl, but MaXXXine‘s digital release could wait longer if it is a bigger box office hit.
