Trump wrote that Americans have been “so nice in allowing our Country to be divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at.”
But Kimmel was ready with a correction for the president.
“I hate to be the one to tell you: Our country isn’t being laughed at,” Kimmel said. “They’re laughing at you.”
Trump has always been sensitive about being laughed at, to the point of threatening the late night TV hosts who make jokes about him.
In addition, California Gov. Gavin Newsom ― a frequent Trump nemesis ― said over the summer he’s seen the laughter himself.
