Family-owned British jeweller Pragnell has extending its roster of UK sporting ambassadors, signing cricketer Jacob Bethell.
Regarded as a rising young international star for both his county team (Warwickshire) and country (England), he sports the Pragnell logo on his bat, seen most recently in the test match against India, “signalling his arrival among the growing ranks of the Pragnell Rare Jewels community”.
That’s a group that already includes British sporting ambassadors tennis star Katie Boulter, eventing’s Jemima Howden, mountaineer Adriana Brownlee, endurance athlete Bex Ferry and fellow cricketer Jofra Archer.
Set to become the youngest ever male to captain England in international cricket when the 21-year-old leads England’s T20 side on a tour of Ireland in September, his exposure will support Pragnell in its wider marketing efforts too.
Earlier this year Pragnell opened an expanded showroom in its home town Stratford-upon-Avon, with the new space “dedicated to showcasing watches from leading Swiss… brands”, spanning around 2,000 sq ft.
It said the opening “significantly enhances and broadens the watch retail offering in the West Midlands region”, it said, noting “many of the partner brands have very limited distribution”.
A second flagship phase, to be announced later in the year, “will further enhance the unique brand partner offering,” it added.
