The Jets have received calls about starting receiver Garrett Wilson and No. 2 cornerback D.J. Reed ahead of the 2024 NFL trade deadline, Russini reports. Jeff Ulbrich says Allen Lazard injury is ‘really funky’
Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich spoke to reporters after New York’s “Thursday Night Football” victory over the Texans and said that the team’s No. 3 receiver, Allen Lazard, was dealing with a “really funky injury.” It is impacting the wideout’s sternum and the AC joint in his shoulder, per Ulbrich, and there is no timetable for his return.
Will the timing of Lazard’s injury lead the Jets to keep Mike Williams? It’s not guaranteed, but Lazard is on IR and will need to miss at least the next three games. The earliest Lazard can return is Week 14. Thus, Williams may have a better chance of sticking in New York than initially anticipated.
