Iowa native and “American Pickers” co-star Frank Fritz died Monday.
Fritz was on the antique hunting show for over a decade, according to USA TODAY, and he also owned an antique store in Savanna, Illinois, called Frank Fritz Finds.
“We are saddened to share that our friend and beloved member of The History Channel and American Pickers family, Frank Fritz, has passed away,” according to a statement from the History Channel and Cineflix Production. “We will always remember ‘the bearded charmer’ and his never-ending search for vintage motorcycles and bikes. Our thoughts are with Frank’s loved ones during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed.”

How old was Frank Fritz?
Fritz, who was born on Oct. 11, 1963, was 60 years old when he died, according to Iowa court records. He was roughly a year older than Wolfe who will be 60 in November, according to court records.

Some online sources, including IMDB, listed his birth year as 1965.
What did Frank Fritz of ‘American Pickers’ die of?
Fritz died Monday, Sept. 30. His death came after two years of poor health that started when Fritz suffered a stroke, which exaggerated his severe Chron’s disease, friends told the Register. He was placed under temporary guardianship after his debilitating stroke, according to the Des Moines Register.
A cause of death has not been released.

Co-star Mike Wolfe announced Fritz’s death Tuesday on an Instagram post saying he had known Fritz for half of his life.
“What you’ve seen on TV has always been what I have seen, a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was funny,” Wolfe said in the post. “The same off camera as he was on, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself.”
The show aired in 2010, and the two would drive around the country on small-town Main Streets in search of rare antiques.
“We’ve been on countless trips and shared so many miles and I feel blessed that I was there by his side when he took one last journey home,” Fritz said. “I love you buddy and will miss you so much I know you’re in a better place”
The co-stars reunited in June 2023 following Fritz’s stroke.

Where was Frank Fritz from?
Fritz is from Davenport, Iowa, roughly 24 minutes south of the first “American Pickers” store, Antique Archaeology.
Where is the ‘American Pickers’ shop located?
The original, Antique Archaeology is located at 115½ Davenport St. in LeClaire, Iowa. The “American Pickers” also has another store location in Nashville, Tennessee as well as a motor store in Columbia, Tennessee, according to its website.
