Houston never could get off the field. Did the turnovers hurt? Sure, but there was really only one promising defensive drive after halftime.
The Vikings drove 77 yards downfield for a touchdown to take a 21-0 lead. Maybe the 28-yard pass interference call on Jalen Pitre was ticky tacky, but it led to a third score from the former No. 3 overall pick.
Justin Jefferson largely did whatever he pleased against the Texans’ secondary in the first 30 minutes. In the second half, he was dealing with a hand injury, so that’s why Darnold only targeted him twice.
Running back Aaron Jones averaged 5.4 yards and finished with over 100 yards of offense.
Tim Settle had two sacks, bringing the Texans’ interior pass rush to five sacks through three games. That’s the one positive.
