Eponymous designer Archana Kochhar presented a women’s traditional wear collection that celebrated heritage weaves from across India at Delhi Times Fashion Week. The Vasant Kunj runway show featured sarees and lehengas in a variety of bright and delicate hues.
Models walked the runway in hues of tangerine, plum, and magenta in full lehengas with gold and glittering details. A few menswear looks also featured in ivory with classic tailoring.
“Archana Kochhar’s collection which pays homage to the timeless grace of Indian weaves and the different adaptations of these silhouettes,” announced Delhi Times Fashion Week on Facebook. “The collection uses hand woven brocade weaves from Varanasi, handicraft mirror work embroidery from the Kachchh district of Gujarat, hand loom Jamdani fabric from Bengal and the tie dye Bandhani technique from Gujarat.”
The runway show was powered by Prius Communications with hair and makeup partner Lakmé Salon at The Grand New Delhi. Delhi Times Fashion Week ran from May 29 to 31 and is an initiative of the Times of India Group.
Archana Kochhar is known for her traditional style luxury occasion and bridal wear with heavy embellishments. Kochhar’s eponymous brand retails from its direct to customer e-commerce store and is an official brand for the 71st Miss World Festival, according to its website.
