Today marks the beginning of the 2024-2025 campaign and the official start of the Fran Brown Era in Syracuse. The Orange, who finished last season 6-7 overall, will host Ohio University in a newly renovated JMA Wireless Dome that is expected to be packed. The Bobcats completed 10-3 overall last season. The last time ‘Cuse took the field, it was with less than-ideal circumstances, and the outcome fit that same criteria. They played South Florida in the Boca Raton Bowl after previous head coach Dino Babers was relieved of his duties. They were decimated, losing by a score of 45-0. Since then, a lot has changed for this program. Former Georgia DB coach Fran Brown was named the new head coach and has revitalized the entire fan base in the off-season. He and his coaching staff secured the best recruiting class in the program’s recent history, highlighted by big names like Ohio State transfer QB, Kyle McCord. He also retained key players already beloved in the 315, including TE Oronde Gadsden, RB LeQuint Allen, and LB Marlowe Wax. Today, Syracuse fans get their first taste of what this squad brings to the table as they attempt to light up Ernie Davis Legends Field. Follow this thread for updates throughout the game.
