Caleb Bacon injury update
Postgame – “We don’t know a lot about Caleb right now,” head coach Matt Campbell said after the game.
11:02 / Q2 – After being evaluated on the sideline, Bacon was carted off the field to the locker room with his left knee heavily wrapped.
Linebacker Caleb Bacon exited the game early in the first quarter.
He was helped off the field with an apparent left leg injury he suffered during an ISU punt.
Bacon was being treated on the sideline but did not head to the locker room right away. He was later transported to the locker room on a cart.

Zach Lovett entered the game in replacement of Bacon.
The redshirt junior played 13 games as a backup linebacker and key special teams member in 2023, finishing with 11 tackles, 3.0 sacks and 3.5 tackles for a loss.
Lovett finished the game with two tackles.

Bacon did not record a stat before he exited the contest.
Last season, the redshirt junior was a key cog in the Cyclones’ defense, playing 13 games as a reserve linebacker and finishing second on the team with 60 tackles.
