PAC, Claudio Castagnoli And Wheeler Yuta Win Trios Ladder Match
This match started with Christian Cage running scared from the match before it even started.
The Gunns performed a tribute to ladder match legends the Dudleys by doing the “Whassup” spot followed by the “get the tables” spot.
Cage returned and was mauled by the entire field.
Mama Wayne tried to grab the Trios Championships, but was stopped by The Gunns. Luchasaurus saved her by choke-slamming everything that moved.
In one of many great spot, Nick Wayne hit the Wayne’s World on Brody King through the table. This was topped by Brody King and Claudio Castagnoli, who put The Gunns through two tables while simultaneously falling off the ladders. Not to be outdone, Wayne hit a tope into a Canadian Destroyer through the table.
Juice pulled out a ladder that was so tall, it hit the Trios Championships standing up. Christian Cage pushed Juice off, and the man fell an eternity, only to land—testicles first—on the top rope. This looked like the most painful crotch spot in AEW history.

Timeless Toni Storm Def. Mariah May
Luther received chants of “Luther” as he returned to introduce Toni Storm.
Fans were very much into Toni Storm—who received a superstar entrance—but there was little-to-no heat for Mariah May’s offense.
Mina Shirakawa was shown in the crowd next to Rachel Ellering and Mina was clearly conflicted.
Mariah May received the most heat for attacking Luther. It was even more heat than she received for slapping her own mother (Lorraine), who was seated in the front row. After bloodying Mariah May, Toni Storm embraced Mariah’s mom.
Tony Schiavone was all for Toni Storm’s brutalizing of May, while Nigel McGuinness was clearly biased against Storm.
After shaking off two butt bumps from May, Toni Storm hit a flurry of offense, including a Storm Zero, but Mariah kicked out. Fans came to their feet as the two warriors knocked each other out following a double headbutt.
Luther stopped May from grabbing the AEW Women’s World Championship and flipped her off to a big pop.
May shockingly won the match with a Storm Zero after Storm failed to pull the trigger on using the Shoe. A great match.
Toni Storm vs. Mariah May Grade: A
Hook Def. Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho played himself to the ring by singing his “Learning Tree” theme. Hook’s entrance was a nod to his father Taz, Holter Monitor and all.
Just like on AEW Collision, fans were fully behind Big Bill with chants of “we want Big Bill!”
Hook surprised Jericho by removing the eye patch and revealing he could see.
Other than the involvement of Big Bill, this match had little heat. Jericho received the brunt of this heat when he accidentally struck Big Bill with a pool stick, causing Bill to go through a table.
Taz hit the ring and hit the Tazmission on Bryan Keith. At the same time, Hook trapped Jericho in the Redrum for the win. I guarantee Taz was crying behind those shades.
Taz vs. Chris Jericho Grade: B+
Young Bucks Retain AEW World Tag Team Titles
AEW received a drawn-out entrance, including Justin Roberts saying “they put out more hits than The Beatles.”
The Acclaim’s entrance began with a musical interlude, prompting fans to chant “oh scissor me daddy!” Max Caster followed up with a scathing rap, including insinuations of FTR pleasuring themselves to Bret Hart matches.
Fans briefly chanted “CM Punk” one year after the Brawl In.
Matt Jackson and Max Caster teamed up for an EVP Trigger as an Acclaimed Heel Turn seems more likely.
This was definitely the match where fans began to show signs of fatigue, despite the heated entrances.
There was a slew of double and triple-suplex spots that were well received by a tiring crowd.
The Young Bucks continued to flash greatness with a series of double-team moves, including an attempted Meltzer Driver where Matt was shoved off the top rope, resulting in a backflip onto the field.

Christian Cage Wins AEW Casino Gauntlet
- Orange Cassidy
- Kazuchika Okada
- Nigel McGuinness
- Kyle O’Reilly
- Zack Sabre Jr.
- Roderick Strong
- Mark Briscoe
- Hangman Adam Page
- Jeff Jarrett
- Ricochet
- Christian Cage
- Luchasaurus
Orange Cassidy made a hilarious entrance in homage to Mr. Bean. Kazuchika Okada was out second, and received his normal superstar reaction.
Nigel McGuinness made his emotional return to the ring to the biggest pop of the night. This is why he looked so jacked on AEW Dynamite this past week. “AEW color commentators are kicking ass tonight,” quipped Taz after helping Hook win the FTW Championship.
The hits just kept coming as G1 champion Zack Sabre Jr. entered at No. 5. Fans roared for a showdown between Sabre and fellow Englishman Nigel McGuinness.
After a series of heartstopping entrances, poor Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong walked out to more tepid responses. After a quick interval, fans popped huge for ROH world champion Mark Briscoe.
Hangman Adam Page received pyro for his entrance as fans chanted “Cowboy Shit!” Jeff Jarrett was next as fans exploded. To this point, with multiple emotional moments on deck, this was a truly historic crowd.
Ricochet made his surprise debut in AEW. It was a nice pop, but not a great pop because fans had already spent their energy popping for several surprise entrances.
Luchasaurus came in at No. 12, and after it seemed he was finally gonna turn on Christian, he helped Christian win the Gauntlet.
AEW Casino Gauntlet Grade: A+
Will Ospreay Def. MJF
Will Ospreay’s entrance was an homage to Assassin’s Creed an fans went crazy for him even after the series of big pops during the Casino Gauntlet. You couldn’t even hear MJF’s music when it played.
MJF walked out dressed like Uncle Sam. On brand.
MJF hit a cheeky Cross Rhodes for a nearfall after screaming “anybody can flip, you piece of s—t!”
The story of this match quickly became about Ospreay’s injured lower back, but of course, it would inevitably become about using the Tiger Driver ‘91.
Right on cue, Ospreay continued to be conflicted about using the Tiger Driver, even as fans lightly chanted “Tiger Driver!”
Ospreay accidentally knocked out a security guard with a Hidden Blade on the outside and showed concern. MJF capitalized with a belt shot, but Ospreay kicked out.
MJF missed a Hidden Blade, which led to a Hidden Blade from Ospreay and a ref bump. Ospreay once again showed concern. The man just wants everybody to know he’s a babyface.
Ospreay one again hesitated on a Tiger Driver, only to be countered by a low blow from MJF.
MJF used brass knuckles to try to trike Ospreay, but he was stopped by a masked man. That masked man turned out to be Daniel Garcia. After a Hidden Blade, Ospreay beat MJF with a Tiger Driver ‘91 for the win.
Will Ospreay vs. MJF Grade: B+
Mercedes Mone Def. Britt Baker
Mercedes Mone received a Queen-like entrance with a carriage and corgi’s, including what I assume is her real-life dog Ryu Maivia.
Fans chanted “DMD,” but they were clearly tired by this point as the match had little heat early on.
Britt Baker worked over Britt Baker’s back, which featured a stiff double-knee spot to the back by Mercedes.
Excalibur noted Mercedes was looking to beat a third consecutive former AEW women’s world champion.
Britt and Mercedes brought the crowd ack with an impressive top rope bodyslam that was countered in midair by a Britt Baker.
In a tribute to Mercedes’ idol Eddie Guerrero, Britt Baker pretended that Kamille hit her with the NJPW Women’s World Championship, only to be kicked out by referee Paul Turner.
Mercedes went on to retain her title with another awkward Mone Maker.
Mercedes Mone vs. Britt Baker Grade: B-
Jack Perry Def. Darby Allin | Sting Returns
Darby Allin pulled up with thumbtacks on his face. Jack Perry walked through fire during his entrance.
Fans seemed to side with Jack Perry, chanting “cry me a river” and “F CM Punk.” Some fans chanted “CM Punk” and were booed.
Darby was yeeted off the stage through a table and started bleeding. Despite all the thumbtacks that were in his head from jump, Excalibur aid “I’m not sure what opened up Darby’s head.”
In a match that seemed to be cut short, Darby was stuffed in a body bag. After popping his head out of the coffin, Perry stuffed Allin back into the coffin, spit on him and closed the coffin. This was Darby’s first loss in a Coffin Match.
After the match, The Young Bucks poured gasoline on Darby Allin, threatened to set him on fire but they were stopped by Sting—who returned to “Seek and Destroy.”
Jack Perry vs. Darby Allin Grade: C+
Bryan Danielson Def. Swerve Strickland
Bryan Danielson came out to “Final Countdown” after a vignette about how he’ll “always choose wrestling, though the vignette also made it look like he was talking about his family.
The Wembley Stadium crowd didn’t pop for a DJ Whoo Kid drop, which is on brand considering AEW’s demographic.
Swerve pulled up with Bun B, who performed a remixed version of Swerve’s theme. When prompted, fans did chant “Swerve’s House!” during the call-and-response.
Danielson was joined by his family Buddy, Birdie and Brie, which was noted during his ring introduction.
Fans were fired up as soon as the bell rang and this felt like the biggest match of the show. Even Jim Ross was on the call.
There was an early ref bump where Danielson accidentally kicked Paul Turner while trapped in a fireman’s carry. This led to Prince Nana bringing out a ring bell and Swerve hitting a Death Valley Driver on the bell. Danielson bled right in front of his family.
Both Swerve and Nana took joy in taunting Danielson’s children while the kids were being booked to watch Bryan bleed.
A bloody Danielson sold his neck as he battled back against Swerve with a Cattle Mutilation and a series of “Yes” kicks.
Swerve (kayfabe) dropped Danielson on his head with a modified Gory Driver. This brought out medical professionals to check on Bryan. Swerve his a top-rope stomp but Danielson dramatically kicked out.
Danielson once again kicked out of a House Call, but with much less energy. Fans chanted “no!” as Swerve peppered Danielson with Yes Kicks, but Bryan ultimately no-sold them by looking at his family and saying “I love you so much!”
The emotional comeback ended in with a Busaiku Knee, but Swerve brushed it right off and hit Danielson with second House Call. After a Big Pressure, Danielson kicked out to a huge reaction—and much to the chagrin of Swerve. Excalibur noted this was the first time anybody kicked out of Big Pressure.
Hangman Adam Page hit the ring, but was apprehended by security. The spot led to a second Busaiku Knee for a nearfall.
Danielson went on to battle Swerve Strickland, and locked him in the LaBell Lock, forcing Swerve to tap out for the first time. Danielson celebrated with the Blackpool Combat Club, PAC and his family as All In went off the air.
