KOLKATA: The civic volunteer who accompanied RG Kar main accused Sanjay Roy – first to Burtolla and then Chetla – just before Roy allegedly committed the crime said that he behaved normally the day after crime though he repeatedly ensured that he did not have to go to the hospital. The civic volunteer said the CBI has also summoned him for a polygraph test.
“We went to R G Kar on Aug 8 first around 1.30 pm and then at 11 pm for my brother’s treatment. After that we visited Sonagachhi area and then Chetla where we had liquor. Around 3 am, we arrived at R G Kar Hospital. I urged Sanjay to return to the barracks but he didn’t. I headed back to the barracks alone,” he said. According to him, Roy went to the hospital.
“On Aug 9, we were supposed to go to R G Kar for my brother’s treatment. But he didn’t show up. I tried waking him up around 10 am. He picked up my call around 12.10 pm but kept avoiding visiting the hospital. Even when I informed him about the incident, he seemed casual and happy. He started drinking alcohol around 2.30 pm,” said the volunteer in a telephonic interview to the media.
