SELMA, Ala. (WTVY) -For the second time in barely a week, an Alabama high school football player has collapsed the latest incident during a medical attack on Friday.
Alabama Independent School Association executive director Michael McLendon said in a statement that Caden Tellier, a Morgan Academy player, suffered a brain injury.
Morgan Academy confirmed to Gray station WSFA that Caden Tellier died Saturday afternoon.
The exact nature of the injury is not precise.
McLendon said that Morgan Academy in Selma, Alabama, has suspended all school activities this week to give the community time to come together.
“We ask that our entire AISA family and the people of Alabama join us in prayer for peace and comfort Caden’s family and the Morgan Academy community as they navigate this difficult time,” said McLendon.
14-year-old Semaj Wilkins, a New Brockton High School player, died August 13th after collapsing at a preseason practice.
The cause of his death remains under investigation.
