Joseph Quinn is originally from London
According to L’Officiel, Quinn was raised in South London and attended a private school with a strong drama programme. Soon after, he pursued drama at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, graduating in 2015.
As the only child of separated parents, he says he had a pathological need for attention. “I was never a stage kid being taken to auditions from an early age, but I’d always been curious,” he told The Guardian. “It was the only thing I had any natural aptitude for.”

Stranger Things changed his professional life in ways Quinn didn’t and couldn’t have imagined. In an interview with British GQ in 2022, he shared how, when he got the life-changing call from his agent in November 2019, he couldn’t believe it.
“He called me, like, ‘Who’s that?’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ So he goes, ‘I’m sorry, is that Eddie from Stranger Things?’” Quinn recounted of how his agent broke the news. “I literally fell to my knees. ‘Like, What? Are you sure?’ It felt like it’d just fallen out of the f***ing sky.”

Quinn, who brought the beloved character to life in season four, hinted at a potential return during a chat with Entertainment Tonight. When a journalist said they had a feeling Munson may show up in the last season, Quinn playfully replied, “I might have that feeling, too. Or maybe I don’t. Who knows? I don’t know! Who knows? Maybe I do.”
