The L.A. Games marks the first time since 1996 that the United States has served as host of the Summer Olympics when the Games were held in Atlanta.

Italy is serving as host at the next Winter Olympics. The Games will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, marking the first time two cities are serving as co-hosts for the Olympics.
The Games will be held from Feb. 6-22, 2026.
How many times has Italy hosted the Olympics?
This is the fourth time Italy has served as host. The other times were the 1956 Winter Games in Cortina d’Ampezzo, the 1960 Summer Games in Rome, and the 2006 Winter Games in Torino.
