(CNN) – Get ready to wish on some shooting stars.
The Perseid meteor shower is one of the best meteor displays of the year.
According to NASA, you can expect to see an average of up to 100 meteors per hour during the Perseid’s peak and it’s expected to peak starting early Sunday before dawn.
Experts say there should be good viewing of shooting stars starting after midnight Sunday or even the following evening.
For optimal viewing of the meteor shower, find a dark, rural location, look to the east, where stars rise, and find the constellation Perseus.
If you can’t find Perseus, look for Cassiopeia, which looks like a slightly irregular “W” in the sky.
The center of the shower will be below it.
