Who knew enjoying lunch in Milan, the heart of Italy’s fashion and architecture scenes, would be cheaper than jetting off to London for a British couple? A woman from England who had always wanted to go to Milan realised that a day’s trip to the Italian city for lunch and exploration would cost her less than buying a ticket to London. Sharon Summer, 49, planned this trip with boyfriend Dan Puddifoot, 36, reported Daily Star. The couple from Cranfield, England, spent 14 euros each for their flight to Milan, while Sharon explained that going to London costs 35-50 euros for a ticket.
“It’s cheaper than getting to London and that’s how I sold it to my boyfriend. I go into London a lot and it costs between 35 and 50 Euros for a ticket,” Daily Star quoted Sharon. “I’ve always wanted to go to Milan. I’ve heard it’s possible to do it in one day. We did everything we wanted to do. Milan is really easy to get around, there’s a train from the airport to the centre that was less than ten euros.”
Instead of buying an expensive ticket for the one-and-a-half-hour journey to London, the couple drove one and a half hours to Stansted Airport, England. They caught a morning flight to Milan and arrived in the city in about three hours. Next, they hopped on a train to the centre for less than 10 euros.

The couple went to an Italian restaurant and enjoyed a club sandwich and pink lemonade. “We climbed the Duomo di Milano and had lunch at The Dome restaurant. I had a fancy pink lemonade with marshmallows in it. We just explored. We did 20,000 steps,” Sharon shared.
