What exactly happened
Amar Chavan is a deputy engineer at Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST). As per PTI report, the 42-year-old ordered Tecno Phantom V Fold 5G smartphone worth Rs 54,999 from Amazon. The order got delivered on July 15, instead of the phone claims Chavan, the parcel had a set of tea cups inside.
He further accuses the e-tailer for not offering any customer support. “I called up the shopping portal and complained… They assured they would probe and revert but did not revert till July 20. When I called them up, they expressed helplessness and refused to give me their investigation report after which I approached the police,” said Chavan.
He claims that the online portal is not taking interest in investigating the case. He told PTI that he has provided the police with CCTV footage of the delivery person.
In another incident last month, a Bengaluru woman found a snake in her Amazon package last month. Tanvi ordered a Microsoft Xbox controller from Amazon India. Upon receiving the parcel, she was shocked to see a snake inside it.
She also shared a video on X writing: “Ordered an Xbox controller from @amazonIN and received a free snake with it!”. The woman and her husband claimed that Amazon’s customer support put them on hold for over two hours, forcing them to handle the situation all by themselves “in the middle of the night.
