Be it Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Cheeni Kum’, or with Irrfan Khan in ‘The Namesake’, and ‘Maqbool’ to Anil Kapoor in ‘Virasat’ and now Kapil Sharma in ‘Crew’, how does Tabu do it? She laughs and says, “Kapil and I are the new ‘it’ couple.” We can’t help but agree because Kapil and Tabu created such great chemistry on-screen in the film.
Further giving it a thought, Tabu elaborates, “Of course it’s a creation but when you’re doing it, you are not engineering something. I’ve not consciously engineered anything but I feel when you’re with that particular person, you will bring across what you have with that particular person and camera will capture it.”
The actress agreed that she’s had that equation on-screen with most of her co-stars but many factors contribute to it. “Sometimes two people just look good together, sometimes two people are so in sync with each other. Sometimes as actors you have great timing with each other. Sometimes you look at each other in a way that’s special. Also, given in context the film you’re doing.”

She further explains how interacting with her co-stars is one of the best parts of her job. “I love actors. Finally, actors work with actors, the director is with you just up to a particular point. Eventually, in front of the camera, you’re working with your co-actors. It’s the most interesting part of my job to go on set and have exchanges with other people and human beings. To find out what it would bring out in me and where it will be. Sometimes you know it’s not great with some actors and some times you come back feeling fulfilled. Sometimes you come back feeling empty after some experience,” says Tabu.
