A staple c-store item for decades, pizza has become one of the focal points of the c-store industry’s recent run of foodservice deals. Besides 7-Eleven, EG America and GPM Investments have launched pizza-focused value meals, both of which are available for about $5, across their c-store networks.
Other cost-conscious deals across the industry this year have included QuickChek’s $6 subs and two-for-$5 breakfast sandwiches, as well as Wawa’s $6 Hoagie sandwiches for its annual Hoagiefest.
7-Eleven launched its Slurpee Day specials in 2002, which was the company’s 75th birthday.
Its free Slurpee and $1 pizza and gummy deals are available at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes convenience stores nationwide.
The convenience retailer is working with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for this year’s celebration. The two organizations created limited-edition Slurpee cups to raise awareness for the hospital’s mission.
“This year, we’re thrilled to share this day with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and make a positive impact on kids’ health and in our communities through our in-store fundraising efforts,” said Marissa Jarratt, executive vice president and chief marketing and sustainability officer at 7-Eleven Inc.
Irving, Texas-based 7-Eleven operates, franchises and/or licenses more than 13,000 stores in the U.S. and Canada. The company also operates and franchises Laredo Taco Company and Raise the Roost Chicken and Biscuits locations.
