Tata Group business Titan Company has launched its jewellery brand Tanishq in Bangladesh through a joint venture with Rhythm Group. The move is part of Tanishq’s international retail expansion plan and will see Tanishq retail across Bangladesh.
“Through this joint venture Titan aims to combine Tanishq’s unparalleled artisanship and brand legacy with Rhythm Group’s strong market presence and local expertise in Bangladesh, to manufacture and sell jewellery to discerning Bangladeshi consumers,” said Tanishq and Rhythm Group in a joint statement, the Press Trust of India reported.
The first launch as a result of the joint venture will be a manufacturing facility in Bangladesh’s Narayanganj. “Together, we will leverage our combined strengths to elevate the jewellery industry in Bangladesh and make Bangladesh the hub for making Tanishq Exquisite Jewellery for the world,” said Titan Company’s managing director C K Venkataraman about the partnership, ET Bureau reported.
Tanishq currently counts 17 international stores located across the US, UAE, Singapore, Oman, and Qatar. Titan Company’s watch business also has a global presence in areas such as the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia.
A joint venture between Tata Group and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation, Titan Company’s jewellery brands include Zoya, CaratLane, Mia by Tanishq, and Irth among others. Tanishq was established in 1994 and is headquartered in Bengaluru.
