Actress Swara Bhasker has reacted to a post shared by a food blogger on X (formerly Twitter). The food blogger has dropped a picture of a plate full of a vegetarian meal – fried rice and a dish made with cottage cheese. The text attached to the post read, “I’m proud to be a vegetarian. My plate is free from tears, cruelty and guilt.” Responding to the post, Swara Bhasker said, “Honestly… I don’t understand this smug self-righteousness of vegetarians. Your entire diet is made up of denying the calf its mother’s milk.. forcibly impregnating cows then separating them from their babies & stealing their milk. Do you eat root vegetables? That kills the whole plant! Please relax with the virtue signalling just because it’s Bakr Eid!”

A person added, “Respecting everyone’s dietary choices and acknowledging the ethical motivations behind them is crucial. Most vegetarians adopt their diet to minimize animal harm and lessen environmental impact. Although no diet is flawless, the objective is to work towards diminishing suffering and advocating for sustainability. Instead of criticizing, let’s concentrate on comprehending and honoring diverse viewpoints…”
